What are your favorite Sweet Protection products and why?

Strutter - This is the helmet I use most and I love it. Keeps the sun out of my eyes, good style, 10/10 fit/comfort, and proper head protection. The hoodies from the first year I ever received products from sweet were the BEST, bring em back! 2010?

What drives you?

When I was younger, I am 34, my drive was coming from an insatiable thirst to paddle every day, anywhere. As I got older I really wanted to develop skills that would put me on track to paddle as well as hero pro kayakers, I wanted to be as good as they were. Then as I developed my own style I could notice where I was stronger and where my unique talents were and I worked on developing those. Now, I am driven by wanting to even further exploit the things I feel that I am good at like surfing big waves, running big volume rivers, and endurance efforts. My fitness is a big motivator for me now and I think that is quite normal at this age.

What’s the wildest thing you’ve been part of?

Could be a tie for “The Grand Inga Project” and “Locked In” (

What animal would you be and why?

I would love to be a River Otter for a day to swim in the undercurrents of rapids. I would love to be an eagle to fly and hunt but also a smaller bird that was a very agile flyer. I would like to be a cougar in BC for a day as well to run and be stealthy but also a Leopard or Lion in Africa. Definitely would like to contrast that with a Jungle Jaguar as well. It could be fun to be a smart fast dog to run for an entire day as well, like Buck from Call of the Wild.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

1. Keep charging, good things will come.
2. If you want something bad enough, you will figure out a way to get it.

What book has made an impact on you?

  • Roald Dahl - Boy, Going Solo
  • Wind Sand and Stars - Antoine De Staint-Exupery
  • Jonathon Livingston Seagull - Richard Bach

Favorite music to get you fired up?

90s HipHop like Gangstarr - Atmosphere, Brother Ali, and then a whole lot of music I don’t know which genre it comes from, chill music can get me super pumped as well, just because I like it so much.
