Sweet Protection and the Norwegian Uno-X Pro Cycling Team get ready for the biggest sports moment in cycling. The countdown and the final arrangements are being made.
Sporting the top models Falconer Aero 2Vi® Mips, Tucker Mips and Redeemer 2Vi® Mips helmet, along with Sweet Protection’s performance eyewear, the Uno-X Pro Cycling team is well-equipped for the Queen stage, time trials and rolling hills of France.
Among others, 2022 U23 ITT World Champion Søren Wærenskjold will compete for the Uno-X Pro Cycling Team. The team will travel to Bilbao with the goal of representing Norwegian and Danish cycling and achieving stage victories. The team has been divided into two groups. One, that will support opportunities for Alexander Kristoff on pure sprint days and others that will shine in the mountains especially, Tobias H. Johannessen and Torstein Træen. Anthon Charmig and Jonas Gregaard W. also bring an X-factor that can pay off.

The Uno-X Riders
The team of 8 riders will start in Bilbao with the goal of representing Norwegian and Danish cycling and chase stage victories. Therefore, the roster selection followed the strategy to be best set-up for the different profiles of the long race.
One group, that will ensure good opportunities for Alexander Kristoff on pure sprint days. The same goes for the mountains, especially with Tobias H. Johannessen and Torstein Træen. Anthon Charmig and Jonas Gregaard will also bring an X-factor that can pay off.

A Nemesis of Time
The Redeemer 2Vi® breaking the mold of traditional time trial helmets and is Sweet Protection’s most advanced time trial helmet, developed with aerodynamic know-how from Formula 1 and in close collaboration with the Uno-X Pro Cycling Team and 2022 U23 ITT World Champion Søren Wærenskjold.
Designed to reduce the aerodynamic drag to a minimum and get the maximum out of the best in the world. In countless wind tunnel tests and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis, the experts succeeded in developing an outperforming aero helmet.
Uno-X Pro Cycling Team rider Søren Wærenskjold was a model and case study crucial in the development and aerodynamic testing (both CFD and wind tunnel). The goal was to simulate an optimal time trial position to best fit the helmet to the rider. To achieve optimized airflow, specifically at the limiting regions around the head, shoulders, back and the front torso, the shape of the helmet and other features were re-imagined.

Since 2011, Virginia Tech researchers have been providing unbiased helmet ratings that allow consumers to make informed decisions when purchasing helmets. The helmet ratings are the culmination of over 15 years of research on head impacts in sports and identify which helmets best reduce concussion risk. This work is done as part of Virginia Tech’s service mission and is 100% independent of any funding or influence from helmet manufacturers.
