Aksel Lund Svindal has been a Sweet Protection Athlete since 2012, and has since then played an important role testing and helping evolve our helmets and goggles, making sure the products are tailored down to every detail. Since ending his professional career after the 2019 World Championship in Åre, he’s ventured into a new role leveraging all the years of experience to help develop functional and purposeful products for the active skier looking to empower their next adventure.
It all started with a Race Helmet tailored for the World Cup
In 2012 Sweet Protection teamed up with Aksel Lund Svindal who give the hand-crafted Rooster Corsa its debut in the alpine World Cup in Sölden, Austria on October the 27th the same year. The helmet, made from pre-preg carbon and thermoplastic fibers, was baked in an autoclave, the same technique used to make Formula 1 race cars.
Since the debut in 2012, Aksel has been using several generations of Sweet Protection racing helmets. See the latest and most evolved editions below.

The goggle collection from Sweet Protection was first launched in 2019, and also here Aksel played a big role in testing phase and tailoring the eyewear collection to fit the needs for not only the world class racer – but also weekend warriors out with their kids - and everyone in between. However, from the perspective of an athlete who’s fighting for every hundreds of a second to win.
When we venture into a new category or product, we do it wholeheartedly and without letting the present limit our vision. We don’t stop at ‘good enough’, we aim higher – which is why we developed our own revolutionary lens technology: RIG - Retina Illumination Grading. The unique RIG technology greatly enhances contrasts, offers minimum color distortion and reduces eye fatigue allowing you to maximize your potential.

All mountain ski apparel collection for men and women
Today, Aksel’s daily routine looks quite different from when he was a full-time athlete, and his new collection called Aksel Lund Svindal for Sweet Protection reflects just that. This collection, consisting of apparel, helmets and goggles, is a collection made for the active skier who enjoys the experience of both perfectly groomed slopes, but also untouched snow off the slopes. Basically, in the category where Aksel finds himself today!
What is so nice now that I am retired, is that I can actually enjoy every day I get in the mountains, says Aksel, who is also relevant right now with the cinema film called "Aksel”, the up-close and personal film that follows him, his family and team through his racing career.
