Volata-serien er Sweet Protections nye racinghjelmer i toppklasse. Volata er utviklet og designet i samarbeid med Aksel Lund Svindal som er dobbel verdensmester og OL-gullmedaljist i alpint. Alle hjelmene har en støtdempende EPS-liner med Sweet Protections egenutviklede Impact Shields som forbedrer fordelingen av belastningen av slag rundt de mer vinklede fremre og bakre delene av hodet.
Alle Volata MIPS-hjelmene leveres med nye 3-L MIPS – et unikt, trelags MIPS-system som er utviklet i et nært samarbeid mellom Sweet Protection og MIPS, og som er spesiallaget for Sweet Protections racinghjelmer.

The Tech Grit
All Volata helmets will also include Sweet Protection’s new for winter 2018/19 GateShields. Made from Expanded Polypropylene and Polycarbonate shells, the Gate Shields will protect the shock absorbing structure of the helmet from gate impacts, increasing the durability of the helmet. One-of-a-kind emergency removal ear pads help to keep the neck stable after a crash.
Chin guard ready
The Chin Guard can be added to the Volata and Volata MIPS without the use of tools. You simply just remove the chin guard covers and attach the chin guard. This makes the Volata suitable for all alpine skiing disciplines.
ABS Race Shell
Our injection molded ABS Thermoplastic Race Shell is very impact resistant through its special rubber toughened construction. The shell is molded with extreme precision to offer the best performance to weight ratio, being more elastic in the top of the head, and rigid in the back of the scull and around the ears.
Gate shields – In-molded gate protection technology
EPP (expanded polypropylene) with polycarbonate shells in-molded into the main EPS liner to protect the shock absorbing structure of the helmet from gate impacts. The Gate Shields are placed in the front and the back of the helmet, as the gates tend to bend after an impact in the front and hit the helmet in the back as well.
Impact shields – Optimized Impact Distribution Technology
The impact shields are designed to provide unsurpassed performance for shock absorbance. It distributes impact forces from the inside of the helmet over larger areas in crucial zones where the head needs it the most.
Brain protection system – 3L-MIPS
A special MIPS solution co-developed with the engineers at MIPS for optimized functionality with the Volata helmet. The 3L-MIPS adds extra protection against rotational motions caused by angled impacts to the head.
3L means three layers.
The construction of the 3L-MIPS is optimized for the race ready fit of the Volata helmet. It has two black in-molded static MIPS layers in the front and back, and one yellow MIPS layer in the center that is suspended by two thin multi-directional pockets to enable movement in all directions.
