The Unofficial Gravel World Championship.

It’s the spirit that 4,000 riders bring with them to the Flint Hills of Kansas for one weekend each spring; the spirit of an event that began with 34 participants in 2006 and now stands as the the unofficial gravel world championship.



Those who are unbound embrace life without limits or restrictions. The word owns many definitions and derivations, but each one ultimately reaches the same finish line.

To be unbound is to be free.

Unbound Gravel, formerly Dirty Kanza, is a premier annual gravel cycling race in Kansas' Flint Hills. Known for its challenging terrain and scenic routes, it draws thousands of riders worldwide, eager to test their endurance and skills across unpaved, rugged roads. Since 2006, it has evolved from a grassroots event to a prestigious race in the gravel cycling community.

Unbound Gravel XL

The Unbound Gravel XL is the most extreme endurance event within the renowned Unbound Gravel race series, offering one of the biggest challenges in gravel cycling. Spanning an epic 350 miles through the rugged Flint Hills of Kansas, the XL is designed for the most resilient cyclists. Participants must navigate the remote, unpaved roads with minimal support, tackling relentless hills and isolation of the Kansas prairie.
The Unbound Gravel XL is more than just a race; it's a monumental test of endurance, perseverance, and the adventurous spirit that defines gravel cycling at its core.

PAS Racing Team will be competing in this years’ edition.

Alexey Vermeulen, den 26 år gamle tidligere WorldTour sykelisten har blitt en ivrig tilhenger av grusløp gjennom Boulder, Colorado. Selv om han startet karrieren sin på tynne dekk, byttet han ut sin posisjon i WorldTour til å sykle på møkkete og knudrete dekk i 2018. Alexey er på Sweet Protection sitt landeveislag.
